There was a Giveaway, however this has now finished. Congratulations to Jennifer Hull.Â
I feel so lucky, in fact if I’m going to be totally honest, I feel a bit like Santa came to visit four weeks early and left me with the gifts of my dreams. Now, for those of you who are not cooks, kitchenware lovers, or if a boiled egg is the extent of your cooking skill set then don’t click out of this post just yet as I think these beautiful creations might just sway you! Copper pans have been around forever. Only last weekend was I wandering around the antique shops of Hungerford with my husband looking (and wishing) at 19th Century antique copper pans, that still looked as solid and ready to use as I imagine the day they were bought.
The lovely folk at Proware recently sent me a selection of their newest range of copper base pans. After the resounding success of their copper Tri-Ply range, I was beyond excited and I literally could not believe my eyes when the courier huffed and puffed his way up my path with the huge box of goodies. Tilly (cat), diving in to the boxes with me pulling out the pans and stacking them beautifully on top of one another. Carefully inspecting the gorgeous contrast between  stainless steel and copper I was bowled over by the beautiful finish on each pan. Suffice to say I have been Googling “Pan Rack” for the last few weeks.
To be honest it did take me a good week to actually use them as I was so in awe at their shiny, untouched beauty that I didn’t want to tarnish (literally) them in any way. However, my old Ikea pans had been ready for the pan graveyard for a long while and so I started cooking with my new best friends (don’t judge me).
Road testing these pans has been an absolute joy, especially in the heavy-duty build up to the festive season. The hob has been on constantly and the pans have definitely lost their L plates, but have been utterly brilliant. They are so sturdy, easy to clean and there’s no worry about burning fingers or hands on red-hot handles!
Keep scrolling down for your chance to win a Copper base 26cm Sauté Pan!Â
The pan range:
In the latest copper base range there are 6 individual pans all with beautiful highly polished stainless steel exteriors and a brushed stainless steel interior (other than the milk pan which has a Metal-tool compatible Teflon® Platinum Plus non-stick coating). The Copper base is a 3 layer construction, including encapsulated aluminium and a copper base plate for superior heat distribution.
They are an absolute D.R.E.A.M to cook with. With my regular pans, things frequently sticking and thus burning seemed like the norm, however with these pans, everything I have cooked seems so much more even. They have been designed with such thought, from the comfort of the handles to the rounded edges that make pouring a dream.
14cm Milk pan (rrp. £27)
The durable non-stick coating and even heat conductivity of this item make it ideal for smaller portions of liquid which demand careful treatment. Twin pouring lips are an added feature of this product adding to its functionality.
16cm Saucepan (rrp.£32)
This is a very versatile size pan; it is small enough to fit in around other items on the hob, while being large enough to hold multiple portions of vegetables. This pan is the smallest in the range to be supplied with a glass lid.
18cm Saucepan (rrp. £36)
The 18cm is a great ‘go to’ pan; ideal for holding several serving of soup, stew, curry or pasta.
20cm Saucepan (rrp. £42)
The largest saucepan in the copper base range, this pan’s tall straight sides help prevent rapid moisture loss, making it ideal for steaming, blanching or making sauces.
24cm Stockpot (rrp. £45)
Whether it’s on the hob-top or in the oven, this stockpot is a slow cooking ‘must have’. It is just what you need for larger soups, pot roasting, jam making, steaming and boiling.
26cm Saute Pan (rrp. £45)
This pan is perfect for sautéing, poaching, searing meat and mid-week family favourites such as bolognaise sauce or curry.
