Diabetes coaching or talking therapy is really valuable because it helps you address both the mental and emotional aspects of managing diabetes, not just the physical side. With type 1 diabetes, you’re constantly thinking about blood sugar levels, insulin, food, exercise—it’s a lot to juggle. This can sometimes lead to feelings of burnout, stress, anxiety, or even depression.

Talking therapy helps you process those feelings, offering a safe space to share what you’re going through. A coach or therapist can help you build coping strategies, break down overwhelming thoughts, and guide you in maintaining a balanced emotional approach to managing your condition.

Now, why block-book more than one session? Well, therapy or coaching isn’t a one-off fix. It takes time to work through emotions and build new habits. The first session might just scratch the surface—introducing the issues. Over multiple sessions, you get deeper insights, develop coping mechanisms, and have the chance to practice what you’ve learned. Plus, dealing with diabetes is ongoing, so having consistent support keeps you on track, helping you adjust as life or your condition changes.

Block-booking helps ensure you stick with it. A single session can be useful, but long-term support gives you the space to work through challenges as they arise, refine your management approach, and keep your mental health in check. It’s about building a sustainable way to live well with diabetes.

  • Initial email questionnaire
  • 5 x 60 minute sessions  (I advise a minimum of 5 sessions- price works out as £40 per session) at the same time every week
  • follow up email / action points after each session
