Description

Low carb porridge.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with t1 diabetes. At 17 yrs old my world changed in an instant. Over a few months I was told by 3 separate dietitians and a carb counting course that a healthy, balanced diet was the way forward. One that focused on slow releasing carbohydrates, low fat and a little protein. Suggested for breakfast was a bowl of oat porridge with skimmed milk, sliced banana and a drizzle of honey. Insulin was there to give me independence to eat “anything” I wanted. As such, for 8 years I lived on a constant blood sugar rollercoaster and never achieving a semblance of control.

Then in 2013 everything changed, when I realised that by making a few changes to the foods I was eating and by reducing the amount of carbohydrates, I was able to achieve control over my blood sugars like never before. Blood sugars that felt totally unachieveable. Blood sugars that reflect non- diabetic control and would help me have 2 healthy pregnancies and feel so well.

Low carb isn’t a cure, but it has helped me feel more in control of my condition and enjoy food like never before.

So, whether you are diabetic, coeliac or just want a healthy, high fibre breakfast, then this porridge is for everyone; my children adore it! Breakfast should be enjoyable and make you feel good and this will hopefully do just that!

FAQ:

What is oat fibre: Oat Fibre is the perfect ingredient for those following a low-carb lifestyle. Oat fibre is the result of processing an oat’s hull—that is, the outermost, indigestible seed-covering in which the oat is enclosed. It contains zero calories per serving and almost zero carbs, because it is almost entirely insoluble fibre. Oat fibre can increase your daily fibre intake significantly.

What people say (those who have currently sampled the product):

“I normally fast because breakfast spikes my blood sugars. But having sampled this and seen that it doesn’t spike me, at all (!!!!) , I will never eat anything else now, this is incredible Mrs P, well done!”

“So simple to make, I love the bite it has to it along with the smoothness. It’s very moreish and a great porridge alternative. I am so pleased it doesn’t have chia seeds in it!”

“Wow, my blood sugars flatlined after a bowl of this. I didn’t add any extras and I really liked the flavour. You are on to a total winner here, Emma!”

“The best low carb porridge I have ever tried. We moved back from the US 6 months ago so I have tried every brand out there. This is far superior in both texture, taste and packaging. We love supporting small businesses and you can see how much time and effort goes into this product”.

“Emma, this will change people’s lives. I have tried a few Keto porridges and tried to make them myself, but nothing compares to this. The texture, the size of the portion (it’s huge!) and it is SO filling!”

What a brilliant find, thank you for making this. Finally something that isn’t eggs that I can eat for breakfast and is low in carbs. I just addded almond milk and found it was a delicious filling breakfast, loved the taste of coconut. Pleased to finally have something that is similar to porridge and so easy to make for breakfast.

Lovely, warming and filling everything you want porridge to be. Felt such a treat to have for breakfast. Now have to stop myself having it every day!

  3. Jane Smith (verified owner)

Just had my first bowl of your porridge . Made it with half and half milk and water. Topped it with a few raspberries and a dollop of Greek yogurt. Wow!!! So delicious, creamy and filling.
You’ll be needing to make bigger bags I think.

This is without doubt the best “porridge” that I have ever had, even before my diagnosis of Diabetes. I only began having breakfast since being diagnosed and it felt like a chore. But now, this product has been a game changer, I really now look forward to my breakfast each day with this low carb porridge. The taste., texture and speed in which to prepare it are outstanding. Thank you so much for all your time and effort you have put into producing this porridge. It certainly brightens up my mornings.

I’ve always found having breakfast a difficult issue as a Type 1 diabetic. This porridge is delicious, easy, and has a minimal effect on my bloody sugars. I add some warm oat milk and dark chocolate – my new favourite breakfast!

  6. Lucy (verified owner)

Such a delicious porridge, I can’t fault it. So amazing that it doesn’t have hardly any impact on my blood sugars. I tastes like ready brek but nicer! I pop in a piece of dark chocolate and it melts making it very indulgent and like a delicious treat. Thank you Emma for a fantastic product!

  7. Kirsty (verified owner)

Honestly so impressed with this porridge.

This is the first time in so long that my blood sugars have stayed in range over breakfast (unless I haven’t eaten).

It’s filling and genuinely does fill you up and support good blood glucose.

I’ve just ordered a few more bags!

  8. Laura

The first time I tried it, I found it very interesting and different. Now I’ve warmed up to it and I absolutely love it, especially with some berries on top. It’s so comforting knowing I can have porridge when I want without the same effect normal oats would have on my body 🙂

  9. Helen Richards (verified owner)

I love this porridge and no longer need insulin at breakfast time! So easy to make in the morning, warming and filling. It is not a replica of porridge oats but it feels like a decent breakfast, with no blood sugar spike! I love almond butter on top and a few raspberries!

  10. Toria (verified owner)

This delicious breakfast is an absolute delight. Well I say breakfast its sometime lunch, tea or supper! I am not diabetic but I am low carb. I make this with either almond drink or full fat cows milk adding seeds or nuts along with some berries or if I want to be really indulgent I add a square of chocolate. It is super filling and keeps me going for 6 hours. I highly recommend you give it a try.

  11. Janet (verified owner)

This porridge is totally delicious! So many lowcarb/keto products prove disappointing but Emma’s porridge is amazing, I could eat this at any time of day! Creamy and moreish. I ate with a spoon of double cream stirred in and just the tip of a teaspoon of Sukrin gold. Yum! Thank you so much from a grateful T2.

  12. Liz Farrell (verified owner)

I love this. I have it hot as porridge or I make overnight n’oats using half almond milk and half Greek yoghurt. It’s really delicious. It keeps me full for hours. With no blood sugar spike.

  13. Fiona Archibald (verified owner)

I have just had my first bowl of porridge and it was delicious, had blackberries on top, so glad i have found this site, thank you.
